Right in the centre of Brisbane, South Bank Parklands is one of the city's premiere parks including the fantastic "Streets Beach", the "Wheel of Brisbane", great food, markets and so much more.
Picnic Island Playground
Picnic Island Playground was opened in April, 2011 and is situated alongside the small Picnic Island of South Bank.
The playground includes a rock climbing slope, a sliding structure, a large sandpit and speaking tubes.
A large fig tree provides plenty of shade and a great climbing opportunity for older kids.
There is an open lawn area with a winding pathway.
Facilities include picnic tables and barbeques.
N.B. As with many areas of South Bank caution and a high level of supervision is required as water is easily accessible from this park.
